CP-TV.ONLINE – Jakarta, The beauty of the Pavilion in North Sulawesi (Sulut) at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) was almost missed at the inauguration of the Kawanua Family Harmony Central Board (DPP) on Saturday (11/3/2023).
It is not without reason that the DPP for the Harmony of the Kawanua Family chose the TMII North Sulawesi Pavilion as the place for the Inauguration of the Minahasa Customary Management, by utilizing 3 areas of the North Sulawesi Pavilion, namely the open outer courtyard area, the area in the Traditional House and the closed Hall area at the bottom of the traditional house. The inauguration activity on Saturday 11 March 2023 was also used to promote the splendor of the North Sulawesi Pavilion.
Why not, the North Sulawesi pavilion, which is almost completed, which was funded by the Provincial Government and also received assistance from the Manado City Government, looks to be one of the most beautiful pavilions at TMII.
Initially in 2022 the construction of the North Sulawesi pavilion was an effort by Governor Olly Dondokambey and Deputy Governor Steven Kandouw to renovate the North Sulawesi pavilion at TMII. This was carried out in line with the renovation of TMII by the central government ahead of the G20 Summit. This is also a follow-up to the direction of the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian who asked regional heads to renovate their respective regional platforms at TMII.
The Manado City Government also took part in beautifying the North Sulawesi pavilion. This can be seen from the visit of the Mayor of Manado, Andrei Angouw, who paid a working visit on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.
Continuing the renovation work is the responsibility of the Manado City Government. The visit was also attended by Manado City Secretary Micler Lakat, as well as echelon 2 level officials, as well as sub-district heads throughout Manado City.
The nuances and beauty of the North Sulawesi Pavilion can also reflect the cultural beauty and grace of the people of North Sulawesi who maintain cultural nobility and display the life of tolerance between religions and cultural diversity from various tribes and ethnicities in North Celebes.
In the Minahasa Traditional Inauguration activity, the DPP KKK also performed the Kabasaran Dance as well as Bamboo Music typical of Minahasa culture. The culture of eating together at a long table laid on banana leaves also colors the DPP KKK’s cultural activities.
“The activities of the DPP KKK at the North Sulawesi Pavilion are also intended for Tou Kawanua to help preserve the noble Minahasa cultural customs and promote North Sulawesi Cultural Tourism,” explained Angelica Tengker.

The inauguration was also attended by advisors, administrators and a number of Kawanua figures including Theo Sambuaga, E.E. Mangindaan, Ronny Sompie, Ramo Sumolang, Mona Sigar, Charletty Taulu, Berny Tamara, Ansye Eman, Perry Tangkilisan and a number of Kawanua residents who were also present to enliven the atmosphere.
